ALANIS MORISSETTE

Alanis Nadine Morissette (Ottawa, 1 de junio de 1974) es una cantante, guitarrista, compositora, productora y actriz canadiense. Su tesitura es la de una mezzosoprano, y se ha posicionado como una de las cantantes de mayores ventas de la historia, debido en gran parte a su tercer álbum Jagged Little Pill, que alcanzó alrededor de 33 millones de copias vendidas en todo el mundo convirtiéndose en uno de los álbumes más vendidos en la historia por una artista femenina y uno de los álbumes más exitosos de todos los tiempos. El álbum además, fue incluido en la Lista de los 500 Mejores Álbumes de la Historia según la revista Rolling Stone. A lo largo de su carrera ha sido galardonada con siete Premios Grammy, incluyendo Álbum del año en 1996 y dieciséis premios Juno. En el 2002 la ONU le otorgó el premio «Global Tolerance Award» por su «gran labor en promover la tolerancia». Alanis ha vendido más de 60 millones de discos en todo el mundo.
